This was an extra special session for me to photograph. My sister Ellen & her husband Paul are expecting! LITERALLY any day now their family of two will become a family of three & I am so happy & excited for them! Ok, who am I kidding? I am REALLY happy & excited FOR ME! I’ve already told Ellen & Paul that when the going gets tough she should call Auntie Natalie & I’ll come by to swoop the kiddo & take him for what I am sure is going to be his twelve-hundredth photo session…it’s going to be so FUN to have a baby around that I can cuddle with, play & snuggle with & then hand back to Mom & Dad to be fed & changed! Oh the JOYS of being an Auntie! Congratulations Ellen & Paul…so EXCITED to meet him (for Ellen’s sake, hopefully sooner than later!)!!

Anna is a dear friend & someone very special to me. Anna & I have known each other since way, WAY back…like high school! Oh the stories I could share but will refain from as you are not here to read about that…although it would be fun…you are here to see the photos! But first I must brag a little, Anna is the Dance Coach of the Eden Prairie High School Pom Squad who just took home the National Champions 2011 title for 1st in Jazz and 2nd in Pom! Anna’s work has won numerous national awards & she has also been commissioned by the University of Kansas, Sam Houston State University, North Dakota State University, the University of Delaware, the Minnesota Timberwolves Extreme Team & the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders! In addition to all of this she also teaches at The Dance Warehouse…and I thought I was busy! Anna is a wonder woman & I am so lucky to have her as a friend. Next up on this wonder woman’s list of to-do’s? MOMMY!

Amanda & I haven’t seen each other for several years so I was excited to catch up with her during her Maternity Session! We used to work at Crate & Barrel together when the Southdale & down town stores were open…a lot of “life” has happened since then! I had remembered that Amanda always had the right piece of clothing, latest trendy accessory, clutch or stylish boot for nearly every situation imaginable…& her Maternity Session was no exception! I mean seriously, this girl pulled off leppard print, leggings & over-the-knee suede leather boots pregnant! LOVE HER! Amanda & Nick will soon be welcoming a little bundle of joy into their family & I simply can’t wait to see them all back in the studio this spring!

Well it isn’t surprising that Natalie & I get along really well, I mean we share the same name, how could we not! I actually met Natalie & her husband Andrew through my sister & I believe the first time we met in person Ellen & I were at her store! Natalie owns The Olive Grove in Mendota Heights. If you haven’t been there it is simply a must visit. Each one of the olive oils that they sell is 100% Extra Virgin, filtered & cold pressed. Did you know that less than 10% of olive oils in most producing countries are truly 100% Extra Virgin? This classification is reserved for those oils with less than 0.8% acidity, & judged to have superior taste…& let me tell you, I have about 6 bottles of this stuff at home & it is soooo good! Poured from Italian stainless steel containers in the store called fustis, you can actually taste just about every olive oil they sell! They even sell Balsamic Vinegars (get the 18 year aged one…out of this world), mustards, pastas & seasonings just to name a few. Ok, BACK to the photosession!

This was such a fun session for me to photograph! Natalie & Andrew were so relaxed & laid back. They won’t know what they are having until the baby is born & I think that’s so much fun!

This adorable little pregnant lady just so happens to be my sister-in-law! Oh how excited I am for her to have this little baby girl! We had such a beautiful day for photos…the sun was out & the weather was still a little on the warm side…just perfect for photos outside! Hunter, her son (who happens to be 4??), dug out his toy camera & we both took photos of Nicole in the back yard…I gave him a few tips on how to light the subject…he told me he thought I was doing a good job. After we were done in the back yard we started to head back up to the house & in between us and the house was a HUGE deer! I think it had a 8 point rack! It took one look us & just kept walking as if to say, “oh, it’s just you people again”… Once back inside Hunter proceeded to play in his room & Nicole & I busted out the high heels & lace! Love photographing maternity sessions!

When Jordan & her mom Jenny came out to my place for their session Jordan was about 18 months old & mom was expecting another little one soon! Well, last week their family of three officially became a family of four! Newborn pictures coming soon! On this day however, we ended up exploring some of the fields around my place in the early evening…love the setting sun! We even recruited my sister to help entertain Jordan so we could get a few maternity shots of Jenny too!

This first one is of Ellen…I needed a model so I could practice a little with the light! And if any of you know my sister then you know that she ALWAYS wears her hair up…I would recognize this silhouette anywhere!

And then it was Jordan’s turn!

Jenny was my first client when she was pregnant with Jordan. How fun it has been to work with her as her family is growing!

I love how the sunshine plays like a little star above Jenny’s head!

Minneapolis Studio Launch & Benefit Event | Camp Get-A-Well-A

Come, be a part of the celebration. Our studio has moved-downtown

minneapolis. I know, we love it and we are excited about it. So excited

that we want to share it with you and make a difference in the lives of

some well deserving kids. We are photographers. We love your

families on your perfectly dressed and discheveled days. We love

your kids on both their sweetly smiliey and grumpy days. Yes, even

when they are turning the studio upside-down. We love what we do

and that’s why we are turning our re-launch party into a benefit with

super awesome giveaways. I’m talking SUPER awesome. We are

parterning with LIMEgreen, people who know how to make an impression,

and with their help, this will be the benefit event of the season to be at.

A small donation ($5, $10, $25, $???) will go a long way to proving camp

experiences to sick kids in hospitals this summer through

Camp Get-A-Well-A. And remember those super awesome giveaways?

With each donation you can enter to win one. A complimentary

session with Christina or Natalie, print packages, consultation with an

interior designer, gift baskets, artwork and so much more.

As many of you may or may not know one of my favorite not-for-profits is Camp Get-A-Well-A. Through some friends I had the pleasure of working with them on some graphic design projects a while back…one thing led to another and well, they’ve grown on my heart! How could they not!? JoLanne and the rest of the volunteers are committed to bringing camp experiences to sick kids in hospitals all over the nation. For many kids, this is the only camping experience they will ever have as they are confined to the hospital due to their illnesses.

As many of you also may or may not know yet my studio is moving downtown and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be sharing the space with fellow photographer chrissie marie photography. So we started thinking that we wanted to have a party to celebrate being in our new space…but we also wanted to give back…so we brought in some event planner friends of ours, LIMEgreen, and voila! Our Launch and Benefit Party is a go!

Anthea and Eric are expecting! Anthea and I met in college. We actually lived together in our sorority house (for a year I think?)…oh the stories I could tell of all the fun times we had in that house (!), BUT I won’t bore you with that, you’re here to see pictures! I simply couldn’t be more happy that Anthea and Eric are going to be Mommy and Daddy to a little baby girl arriving in November. Congrats you two and can’t wait to meet her!
