Talk about a busy 6 months! Dave & I were engaged on February 13th and it has been a whirlwind of planning & organizing ever since! What’s been really fun is actually getting to be the bride! I love weddings. When my sister got married I was her wedding planner & fell in love with the process. I loved shopping venues & talking with vendors about flowers, decor & food…I love the idea of taking something I have in my head & turning it into this amazing celebration for other people to enjoy (probably why I love photographing weddings so much!)…& now it’s my turn! While it has been exceptionally busy around the Finazzo/Fox household this past 6 months…promotion to Senior Packaging Engineer at work! Photo sessions! Twins games! My Cousin’s wedding in St. Louis! Iluminate Books book signings! The Social 360! Christopher Straub Fashion Show! Photographing my summer weddings! Social Butterfly! Matilda Jane Trunk Show! My sister’s 30th! Glamorama! My wedding showers! Bachlorette!…planning a wedding on top of everything else has all been very much worth it, Dave & I will be married this coming weekend!

Most of the wall decor around my home are pieces of art that I have painted. Yes, if I had more time I would be painting, painting, painting…maybe after the wedding? In any case, I was so excited for Dave & I to have our engagement photos taken! I’m rarely on the other side of the camera, well, except when Christina & I are playing at the studio…I can’t believe how much planning it took to get ready for our engagement pictures! What were we going to wear? What was I going to do with my hair? What’s Dave going to wear? The list went on & on! For as much planning as it took we had so much FUN with our engagement pictures & I was so happy with how they turned out (thank you Amber Procaccini!)!

More than anything I wanted to get some images up in our house from our engagement session. How silly is it that as a photographer I don’t have that many photos up? Not anymore! The image below was my favorite one so I had it blown up and mounted over my fireplace. This is SOOO easy to do and I think it makes such an impact in the room! I have several other walls I plan on converting to photography walls once we get our wedding pictures back so stay tuned for more decor picts!

For the next two weeks or so posts will be few and far between as we count down to the last couple of days before we walk down the aisle and then take off for what I am calling our “mini-moon”! After that Photography Sessions and weddings start back up again for the Fall the first weekend in September! I laid out today in the beautiful sunshine (with my SPF on!) & napped…oh it was lovely & warm & nice…but for some reason all I could think about was the fact that fall is almost here & pretty soon the days are going to be getting shorter! PLUS this fall is a BIG fall for me…Dave & I are getting married in August! Yes, in August I will officially become a Mrs. & I simply can’t wait! So the days are getting shorter & busier as the wedding approaches so I thought it best to post my shooting schedule so all of my clients are up to date on my availability. I will not be shooting in August unless we have already discussed the session (KT your event is scheduled & JE when you hit that 32 week mark lets talk!) as I plan on taking (most of) August off to enjoy getting ready for the wedding.

I have also updated my pricing & session packages within the last week! I am SO EXCITED about the packages I am offering now! There are more options for prints & albums & less restrictions around the type of session…perfect for my clients who are growing their families!

November 20th will be the last day I am shooting in 2010! I’d like to think that I will be taking all of December off for family time & to enjoy the holidays however there are always a few newborns who decide to arrive around that time (like I did!) so if you know you will be in need of a session then please contact me as soon as possible so I can make sure to plan for it!

And lastly for clarification purposes…I will not be scheduling more sessions this fall/winter than are listed below. As stated above there are a few exceptions to that rule, but for the most part, this is it! I am very excited to have a “set schedule” moving forward & SO EXCITED to see all my lovely families again this fall!

June 26th – Park in Minnetonka (If you are interested in a Summertime Mini Session on this day please inquire & I will send you details! Sessions are 20 minuets long & perfect for the client looking for fun pictures without a long time commitment & the session is cheaper too!)

I have been MIA…normally I am replying to all of my inquiries within a day or two, posting pictures, commenting all over Facebook and editing, editing, editing… but not recently! By no stretch of the imagination have I been focusing on much of anything photo related. But all is not for naught! (I think that’s how you spell it?) Actually, I have been MIA for several GOOD REASONS! We just finished the second book in the iluminate book series, Rosie & Henry & The Pasta Garden, and (don’t tell Nellie, but) I think this is my favorite one so far!! And I just had Lasik eye surgery! Most importantly I am SO EXCITED for all of you to see Rosie & Henry & The Pasta Garden! This story is about Rosie & Henry, a playful duo who lovingly explore the virtue of imagination (one of my MOST FAVORITE VIRTUES!) in this vivid tale taking readers to a place of glowing hearts and minds. The story alone literally paints a picture in your mind of these curious, energetic, imaginative children and the illustrations (if I may say so) bring this beautiful story to life!

This book is a special one too…we are printing it as a limited edition and when it’s gone, it’s gone! So, mark your calendars! Thursday, April 22nd, you will be able to pre-order Rosie & Henry & The Pasta Garden through iluminatebooks.com! And if you are so inclined to have Karen and I sign your copy, stop by Bachman’s on Lyndale May 1st and May 2nd between 10am and 2pm! We will be there as part of the Bachman’s 125th year anniversary and will be selling and signing copies in the atrium!

If you don’t already have your signed copy of Humble Pie, the first book we launched in the iluminate books series, then visit us this Thursday, April 22nd, at the Dunn Brothers Coffee Smith Douglas More House in Eden Prairie. April is Local Authors Month and we will be there along with other local authors mingling, sipping on coffee and signing Humble Pie books!

And just when it couldn’t get any better, Humble Pie is now available online at Barnes&Noble.com!

While I am so excited about the books and all the events we have coming up I also very much excited to get back behind my camera! I have a full weekend of sessions coming up; you know who you are and expect to be hearing from me soon to confirm details! My eyes have enjoyed this momentary break from the camera while they heal and are feeling wonderful! Had my follow up appointment and the doctor confirmed…I now have 20/15 vision in both eyes! Think this means I am going to take better pictures now? I think so!!

I was thrilled when I got the call from Sarah Baumann, Edina Magazine Editor, and found out that she was interested in sending out a photographer to cover the benefit we put on for Camp Get-A-Well-A last month!
