Talk about a busy 6 months! Dave & I were engaged on February 13th and it has been a whirlwind of planning & organizing ever since! What’s been really fun is actually getting to be the bride! I love weddings. When my sister got married I was her wedding planner & fell in love with the process. I loved shopping venues & talking with vendors about flowers, decor & food…I love the idea of taking something I have in my head & turning it into this amazing celebration for other people to enjoy (probably why I love photographing weddings so much!)…& now it’s my turn! While it has been exceptionally busy around the Finazzo/Fox household this past 6 months…promotion to Senior Packaging Engineer at work! Photo sessions! Twins games! My Cousin’s wedding in St. Louis! Iluminate Books book signings! The Social 360! Christopher Straub Fashion Show! Photographing my summer weddings! Social Butterfly! Matilda Jane Trunk Show! My sister’s 30th! Glamorama! My wedding showers! Bachlorette!…planning a wedding on top of everything else has all been very much worth it, Dave & I will be married this coming weekend!

Most of the wall decor around my home are pieces of art that I have painted. Yes, if I had more time I would be painting, painting, painting…maybe after the wedding? In any case, I was so excited for Dave & I to have our engagement photos taken! I’m rarely on the other side of the camera, well, except when Christina & I are playing at the studio…I can’t believe how much planning it took to get ready for our engagement pictures! What were we going to wear? What was I going to do with my hair? What’s Dave going to wear? The list went on & on! For as much planning as it took we had so much FUN with our engagement pictures & I was so happy with how they turned out (thank you Amber Procaccini!)!

More than anything I wanted to get some images up in our house from our engagement session. How silly is it that as a photographer I don’t have that many photos up? Not anymore! The image below was my favorite one so I had it blown up and mounted over my fireplace. This is SOOO easy to do and I think it makes such an impact in the room! I have several other walls I plan on converting to photography walls once we get our wedding pictures back so stay tuned for more decor picts!

For the next two weeks or so posts will be few and far between as we count down to the last couple of days before we walk down the aisle and then take off for what I am calling our “mini-moon”! After that Photography Sessions and weddings start back up again for the Fall the first weekend in September! If you haven’t signed up for the Holiday Mini Sessions yet (September 26th & October 17th) send me an email! Let’s get you on the calendar this week!

Shortly after I got my new camera Christina & I headed down to the studio to play…well, it was mostly me playing and her laughing at me as I continually ooh’ed and ahh’ed over this new toy! The kids were playing & running & running & playing…but I managed to get a few!

These two little busy bodies are on the GO! At 13 months Weston is standing up & walking around…Esther is almost there too! It was so much fun to switch up my normal routine & visit their home to take the pictures! Grandma brought along red flowers with her & Mom had the most adorable little bathrobes for them to wear. Esther was not enthused to be in the tub & spent most of her “tub time” in daddy’s arms…but once Weston figured out how to turn on the water, that was it, he was hooked!

minneapolis wedding photographer | gina & brett

Gina & Brett were married on a VERY HOT and VERY HUMID weekend in July but that did not stop this wedding party from having FUN! It’s been so fun to photograph weddings this summer knowing that mine will be here soon! I just love seeing what other couples do & capturing what makes their wedding day special to them. For Gina & Brett their wedding day was about celebrating family, about remembering their loved ones who were there with them in spirit & about welcoming each others families into their lives. Their wedding day was about celebrating good friends, about letting loose, goofing off & being together. Their wedding day was simply perfect. Congratulations!

minneapolis children’s photographer | jordan & jenny

When Jordan & her mom Jenny came out to my place for their session Jordan was about 18 months old & mom was expecting another little one soon! Well, last week their family of three officially became a family of four! Newborn pictures coming soon! On this day however, we ended up exploring some of the fields around my place in the early evening…love the setting sun! We even recruited my sister to help entertain Jordan so we could get a few maternity shots of Jenny too!

This first one is of Ellen…I needed a model so I could practice a little with the light! And if any of you know my sister then you know that she ALWAYS wears her hair up…I would recognize this silhouette anywhere!

And then it was Jordan’s turn!

Jenny was my first client when she was pregnant with Jordan. How fun it has been to work with her as her family is growing!

I love how the sunshine plays like a little star above Jenny’s head!
